Auto Club acquisition of the U.S. subsidiary of Wawanesa Mutual closes
Transaction beneficial to both insurers and their respective members
April 3, 2024, Winnipeg, MB – The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company (Wawanesa Mutual) announced today formal closing of its agreement to sell Wawanesa General Insurance Company (Wawanesa General), its U.S. subsidiary, to the Automobile Club of Southern California’s affiliated insurer, effective March 31, 2024. Wawanesa Mutual is focusing on its home market in Canada, where they are a leading mutual insurer.
