Wawanesa expands into Quebec commercial insurance market
Montreal, Quebec, January 11, 2021 - The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company (Wawanesa) has announced the expansion of their Commercial Insurance offering in Quebec. This marks the next chapter in Wawanesa’s 70-year history of operating in the province. New business submissions are being accepted by its contracted brokers for policy-effective dates of February 1, 2021 and later.
“Two years ago, we solidified our commitment to the independent broker channel by transitioning from a direct-to-consumer sales model in Quebec to offering our property and casualty products through 11 exclusive brokers,” said Wawanesa’s President of Canadian Property and Casualty Operations, Carol Jardine. “At the time, we promised our broker partners we would bring our Commercial product suite to the Quebec market and we are now delivering on our promise, strengthening our broker relationships, and expanding the coverage we can offer Quebec-based businesses.”
Wawanesa’s Commercial Insurance offering is composed of 10 Select packages, each for specific industries and operations, plus the ability to tailor a policy to a wide range of commercial operations.
