Wawanesa launches new advertising campaign in Ontario

Toronto, Ontario – To support its Ontario growth strategy, the Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company (Wawanesa) has launched a new advertising campaign. The aim of the campaign is to build mindshare with Ontario brokers, businesses and consumers so that Wawanesa becomes their first choice for insurance.

“This campaign introduces a new look – a new voice – for Wawanesa in Ontario,” said Anna McCrindell Wawanesa’s COO Eastern region. “It highlights our diverse lines of business and also the culture we want to be known for as an innovative mutual insurer: friendly, approachable, always ready to support our brokers and their clients.”

Under the theme Just Say The Word, the campaign kicked off October 9 in time for the annual Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) convention in Toronto. Advertising now appears on highway billboards and street signage around the city’s downtown core and throughout the province, complemented by online digital displays and video advertising. The campaign runs to December 23.

Creatively the campaign features a bold visual approach and uses humor in connecting with its target audience. It builds off other recent Wawanesa initiatives in Ontario:

  • Wawanesa’s Drive Change telematics program, which rewards drivers for good driving and provides them with incentives not to drive while distracted by a phone.
  • Wawanesa’s Digital Small Business Solution, which allows Wawanesa to quote and bind nearly 100 types of small businesses in moments.
  • Wawanesa’s refreshed farm products portfolio, which provide a wide range of farm coverages for any size of farm.
