Wawanesa goes digital with its brokers

Mutual insurance provider teams up with IBM to develop new online tool – BlueTrack – to strengthen broker partnership.

WINNIPEG (MB), May 23, 2017 – The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company (Wawanesa) is now providing its brokers with the power to manage and monitor their entire Wawanesa portfolio online through a new tool called BlueTrack.

With BlueTrack, Brokers can access their dashboards to view summaries of their key performance indicators such as commission, written premium, policy count, policy retention and earned loss ratio. Customized for Wawanesa’s broker channel, the self-serve tool offers the following benefits:

  • Easy access anytime, anywhere;
  • Big picture information at a glance via dashboards and report views;
  • Increased productivity by leveraging data on portfolio performance; and
  • Greater efficiency through streamlined processes that reduce administrative work.

“Wawanesa is committed to supporting and strengthening the insurance broker channel and BlueTrack is one way of partnering with our brokers for success,” said Graham Haigh, Vice President of Business Development, Wawanesa. “The creation of BlueTrack is part of Wawanesa’s digital transformation to make working with us even easier, and more focused on the competitiveness of our brokers and needs of our policyholders.”

Wawanesa partnered with IBM to develop BlueTrack, using IBM’s best-in-class Incentive Compensation Management platform. A part of IBM's analytics and cognitive computing initiative, this platform provides accurate sales and compensation analytics for tactical and strategic sales planning to enable innovation and differentiation.

"In BlueTrack, IBM and Wawanesa have created a solution that streamlines business processes, improves visibility to the sales channel, and allows for greater agility and competitiveness all while maintaining rigorous security and compliance,” said Ted Hlynsky, Client Executive for IBM Global Markets.

BlueTrack was launched earlier this year as a first phase implementation. The tool will evolve as further functionality is deployed for brokers to continue to better understand the business they’ve placed with Wawanesa and their opportunities for growth and profitability.

“As an entrepreneur in a fast paced digital world, BlueTrack, at a click, provides me with the data I look for to manage our Wawanesa book of business,” said Owen Corus, President & CEO, Cornerstone Insurance Brokers Ltd. “BlueTrack is an easy to use tool with appropriate levels of security that instantly provides accurate data to the appropriate members of our administration team. It has definitely strengthened our partnership with Wawanesa.”
