Wawanesa Insurance donates $100,000 to food banks

Winnipeg, MB, March 26, 2020 – In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company (Wawanesa Insurance) announced a $100,000 donation to food banks in Canada and the United States.

“As we continue to experience the broad impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic across our communities, we’ve learned of the immense pressure being put on food banks,” said Jodi Carradice, Senior Vice President and Chief People and Culture Officer for Wawanesa Insurance. “Food banks are crucial to the health and well-being of so many people and, right now especially, our food banks need resources.”

Supporting the communities where their employees and policyholders live and work is a core value for Wawanesa Insurance.

“We will continue to partner with the dedicated people in our communities who operate the food banks as they bravely work to help our neighbours,” added Carradice, “Together, we will get through this."
