Company Recognized for facilitating employee education
In December 2016, the San Diego Chapter of the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters Society honoured Wawanesa with the Employer of the Year Award. This annual award recognizes a local insurance company for the jobs it creates in the local economy and the value it places on continuing employee education.
Wawanesa is a proud supporter of employee education and offers a generous employee Educational Assistance Program. In 2016, four Wawanesa employees from our San Diego branch attained their CPCU Designation, two of whom then joined the local CPCU Board of Directors.
The CPCU requires candidates to pass rigorous undergraduate and graduate-level exams, meet an experience requirement and agree to be bound by a strict code of professional ethics.
