Gosselin Courtiers D'Assurances: A Wawanesa Going the Extra Mile Award Recipient

“We care about our region and its development. Although altruism has always been part of our corporate values, in recent years it has become the driving force behind a number of initiatives aimed at making a positive social impact in our community.”

Karine Gosselin
President and CEO

Going the extra mile means empowering people to take action for themselves and support others in need.

Gosselin Courtiers d’assurances specializes in insurance for farmers, contractors and individuals. Altruism has always been part of its corporate values, and employee involvement is an important component of this. They offer financial support to all employees so they can choose the organizations to receive donations.

Since 2022, the team has donated to nearly 15 charitable projects, including Les Frontaliers Actifs, The Little Green Library, Melissa’s Sunshine Camp and Le Refuge de Galahad.

For several years, the company has offered training courses for farmers on insurance basics. They recently expanded to entrepreneurs, including presenting to the “Maman en affaires” women’s group. The courses are free and open to the public.

In recognition of rising mental health issues influenced by inflation and people’s financial difficulties, the team has recently taken the ‘Sentinelle’ training course to recognize and intervene for people at risk of suicide. This training was offered to employees during working hours and provided by Le Tournant.

As one of Wawanesa’s “Going the Extra Mile” recipients, Gosselin Courtiers d’assurances is directing its $10,000 donation to Le Tournant.
