Using Your Roadside Assistance Coverage

There are two ways by which you may obtain service under your roadside assistance coverage:

Sign and Drive[1]

When using this option, simply request help online, or call 855-WAWA-TOW (929-2869) to initiate a service request. Once coverage is verified:

  1. A service provider will be dispatched to your location
  2. The necessary service will be performed
  3. You’ll sign the receipt
  4. Payment will be made by Wawanesa to the service provider
(up to the limit specified in your auto insurance policy)

No out-of-pocket expense will be incurred by you unless the cost of service exceeds the benefit limit, or the service is not covered by your auto insurance policy.

Outside Services

If you decide to use a licensed service provider of your choice, you’ll be required to pay for the service at the time of the disablement. We’ll then reimburse you (up to the limit specified in your auto insurance policy), if the service is covered, and written verifiable proof of the expense (including your Wawanesa policy number) is provided to us within 30 days of the date of service.

Adding Roadside Assistance Coverage

How do I know I have roadside service coverage?

Roadside assistance is an optional coverage that is not automatically included with your auto insurance policy. The declarations page of your policy will indicate if you have this coverage and will also outline the coverage limits. You can verify coverage or add roadside assistance to your existing policy by logging in to your online account or calling 800-640-2920 to speak with one of our helpful agents.

How much does it cost to add roadside assistance coverage to my existing policy?

The cost of roadside assistance coverage varies by state. However, the easiest way to determine your cost is to request to add the coverage to your existing policy by logging into your online account or calling 800-640-2920 to speak with one of our helpful agents.

Using Your Roadside Assistance Coverage

How long will it take to get roadside assistance?

If your vehicle is disabled, simply request help online, or call 855-WAWA-TOW (929-2869) and courteous, prompt assistance will be dispatched to you. Please note, the length of time to reach you during a displacement will depend on your location and the time of day.

How far will you tow a vehicle?

In most cases, Wawanesa’s Roadside Assistance coverage will provide for a tow of at least 10 miles. However, coverage varies by state and by the type of vehicle requiring a tow. When requesting service, once coverage is confirmed and you have provided the tow destination of your choice, you will be advised of any costs for the service not covered by your policy. You can also refer to your auto insurance policy for specific details on your roadside assistance coverage limits.

Disclaimers

For each covered disabled vehicle in each policy period, there is a benefit limit of one (1) reimbursement per disablement and a total of two (2) disablement incidents.

  1. The Sign and Drive option is not available in some U.S. Territories. For these instances, compensation will be mad e in the form of a reimbursement.
