Water Defence Coverage
Severe water damage due to overland water, sewer backup, or ground water can hit without warning. Wawanesa Water Defence makes sure you’re covered for all three scenarios.
Overland water
The rapid accumulation of water or natural precipitation into your home. This includes river or lake overflows that enter through doors, windows, and any open spaces.
Sewer backup
When water flows into the home through the sewer system and drain pipes. Not only is it unpleasant, it can create health hazards for anyone in the house.
Ground water
The entry of water into the home through foundations, basement walls or basement floors from ground water or the rising of the water table.
Why Water Defence?
We created this coverage to help our members avoid thinking they’re covered for a water loss, only to find out – when it’s too late – that they’re not.
There are many advantages to having these three water coverages in one policy. For example, if you have coverage for sewer backup but not for overland water, your sewer backup coverage may not respond if you experience a backup but there has also been flood water identified inside your home.
