Principle 3: Consent ~ Summary
Wawanesa Insurance obtains your consent for the collection, use or disclosure of personal information, except where inappropriate. Its Policy and applicable personal information protection legislation provide some circumstances where consent is not required (for example, for compliance with court orders). There are also some circumstances where Wawanesa Insurance relies upon implied consent, because of the unique feature of the property & casualty insurance business which makes express consent impossible to obtain in some circumstances. For example, where we operate through independent brokers or agents, we do not have direct relationships with Customers and therefore are not able to obtain express consent directly from such Customers.
